Syracuse, NY – A Tragic Incident Unfolds on MLK Boulevard, Leaving Community in Shock
On Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at approximately 4:54 p.m., Syracuse Police Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation indicating multiple gunshots in the 100 block of Martin Luther King West. Upon arrival, officers were informed that a male victim had already been transported to Crouse Hospital in a private vehicle.
When officers reached the Crouse Hospital emergency room, they discovered a 31-year-old male being treated by hospital staff. Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The Syracuse Police Department has launched an active and ongoing investigation into the shooting. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at (315) 442-5222.
