Watkine C. Watkins, 45, apprehended following brief struggle; faces multiple felony charges.

On June 13, 2024, at approximately 1:03 PM, Jamestown police officers responded to a call reporting a fight at an Eastside residence. The officers, part of the first platoon, quickly arrived on the scene and identified one of the individuals involved as Watkine C. Watkins, a 45-year-old male resident of Jamestown.

Watkins was known to the officers, who were aware that he had multiple active felony arrest warrants issued by Jamestown City Court. These warrants included charges for Burglary in the First Degree, Aggravated Criminal Contempt, Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, and Assault in the Third Degree.

Upon informing Watkins of his arrest, he attempted to flee the scene by escaping out the back of the house. The officers pursued him, leading to a brief but intense struggle. During the altercation, a taser was deployed to subdue Watkins. Shortly thereafter, the officers were able to successfully take him into custody.

Watkins was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where he is currently being held pending arraignment. In addition to the existing felony charges, he now also faces a charge of Resisting Arrest.
