NWS Buffalo NY Issues Urgent Severe Weather Alert

The National Weather Service in Buffalo, NY, has issued a severe thunderstorm warning effective from 3:20 PM EDT until 4:00 PM EDT on June 17th. The storm, located near Portageville, approximately 9 miles southwest of Letchworth State Park, is moving east at 25 mph.

  • Quarter-sized hail

This warning includes the stretch of Interstate 390 between exits 4 and 6.

Instructions: For your safety, seek shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Torrential rainfall accompanying the storm may result in flash flooding. Avoid driving through flooded roadways.
