Jamestown, NY — June 18, 2024, 9:47 PM – In a routine traffic stop on N. Main St and W 6th St, Jamestown Police made a significant arrest uncovering multiple criminal activities. The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Daniel R. McKay, faces multiple charges including weapon and drug possession.

On June 18, 2024, at approximately 9:47 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the area of N. Main St and W. 6th St. The driver was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended NYS Non-Driver ID.
During the stop, officers identified the male passenger as Daniel R. McKay. A further investigation revealed that McKay had an outstanding arrest warrant from Jamestown City Court. Additionally, McKay was found in possession of two loaded handguns and various controlled substances. The substances included 21.3 grams of methamphetamine, crack-cocaine, and fentanyl, all individually packaged for sale.
McKay, a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms, was arrested without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. The charges against McKay are extensive: two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. He remains in custody pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
