Syracuse, NY – In the early hours of June 15, 2024, a brutal stabbing claimed the life of 28-year-old Willy Stridiron, igniting an intense investigation that led to the swift arrest of a suspect.

Timeline of Events:

June 15, 2024, 2:38 AM: Syracuse Police officers responded to a stabbing complaint at 233 Lincoln Ave. Upon arrival, they discovered Willy Stridiron with severe injuries inflicted by a bladed weapon. Despite immediate medical aid from officers and AMR paramedics, Stridiron succumbed to his injuries.

June 15, 2024 – Present: Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) Homicide Unit launched a comprehensive investigation. They conducted multiple interviews and a thorough canvass of the neighborhood and city. Recovered evidence was meticulously processed and analyzed, leading to the identification of a suspect.

June 19, 2024: Detectives apprehended 29-year-old Darnell K. Jones in the 1000 block of Midland Ave. Jones was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Criminal Investigation Division. He is currently held at the Onondaga County Justice Center, awaiting arraignment.
