Jamestown Police Arrest Darius L. Franklin Following Wild Motorcycle Pursuit

Jamestown, NY – In the early hours of June 22, 2024, a high-speed motorcycle pursuit through downtown Jamestown led to the arrest of 26-year-old Darius L. Franklin. The incident began around 2:16 AM when officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd platoon observed a motorcycle without plates being operated by Franklin, a known resident with revoked driving privileges.

Upon attempting a traffic stop, Franklin allegedly failed to comply, initiating a dangerous chase through the city’s north side. During the pursuit, Franklin ignored traffic laws, running multiple stop signs and red lights, and even driving on a public sidewalk in a residential area. The pursuit concluded when Franklin attempted to abandon the motorcycle at his residence, where he was apprehended without further incident.

Further investigation revealed Franklin was intoxicated at the time of the pursuit. He faces numerous charges, including:

• Uninspected Motor Vehicle
• Operating a Motorcycle Without a Helmet

Franklin is currently held at Jamestown City Jail pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
