On Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, at approximately 10:40 PM, Syracuse Police officers responded to a distress call regarding a shooting on the 1900 block of East Fayette Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Jahliek Stewart, a 23-year-old male, suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Stewart was immediately transported to University Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition.
Despite the medical team’s efforts, Stewart succumbed to his injuries. The Syracuse Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident, urging anyone with information to come forward.
