(WNY News Now) – Depew, NY – A significant untreated sewage discharge in Depew, NY, is raising environmental concerns after affecting Scajaquada Creek.
On July 10, 2024, at 4:00 AM, an estimated 54,000 gallons of untreated sewage began spilling into Scajaquada Creek. The discharge, lasting 18 hours, resulted from wet weather conditions.
Despite efforts, the spill remained uncontained, potentially impacting public areas. This incident highlights the need for effective sewage management during adverse weather events.
