(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman faces serious charges after allegedly striking two people with her car outside a local bar early Saturday morning.

On July 13, 2024, at approximately 1:15 A.M., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd platoon responded to a report of a fight at The Wine Cellar, located at 309 N. Main St. Upon arrival, officers discovered a chaotic scene in the parking lot.

Brittany A. Smith, a 31-year-old Jamestown resident, allegedly struck two individuals with her vehicle during the altercation. After hitting the victims, Smith’s car collided with two parked vehicles. One victim declined medical treatment, while the other was transported to the hospital with injuries.

Further investigation revealed that Smith was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Officers took her into custody and transported her to the Jamestown City Jail.

Smith has been charged with Assault in the 2nd degree, DWI, and Aggravated DWI per se. She is currently held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
