(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – Youth from across Chautauqua County showcased their dedication and skills at the 2024 4-H Dairy Show, marking a day of recognition and future promise in the agricultural community.
The 2024 Chautauqua County Fair’s 4-H Dairy Show highlighted the talents of 53 youth, including 35 from Chautauqua County, who competed in dairy showmanship and judging contests. Participants aged 9 to 19 presented six breeds of dairy cattle, with awards for showmanship and animal conformation.
The future of the 4-H dairy project is bright as an additional 18 youth ages 5-8 participated in the showmanship class for Dairy Buds. They were not judged for placings, but to gain experience being in the show arena and interacting with the dairy judge.
