(WNY News Now) – South Dayton – A drug raid in South Dayton led to the arrest of two men, uncovering significant quantities of crack cocaine and fentanyl.

On August 22, 2024, at approximately 3:00 PM, the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, supported by the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, executed a search warrant at 15 Second Ave in the Village of South Dayton, NY. The raid resulted in the discovery of a significant amount of illegal narcotics, including suspected crack cocaine and fentanyl, as well as a substantial sum of U.S. currency.

Jeffrey C. Nesbitt, a 40-year-old resident of Buffalo, NY, was arrested at the scene. Nesbitt faces serious charges, including two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree with intent to sell, as well as Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree. Following his arraignment, Nesbitt was held on $5,000 bail.

Also present at the residence was 48-year-old Phillip B. Duval of Collins, NY. Duval was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree. He was released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
