(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, N.Y. – Looking for an engaging way to spend a fall afternoon with a special child? Bring them to Audubon Community Nature Center’s First Sunday Story Time on October 6. This delightful event invites children aged 2 to 8 to embark on a literary adventure that connects them to the natural world.

The Nature Center opens its doors at 12:20 p.m., with the story time scheduled from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Before the doors open to the general public at 1 p.m., families can enjoy storytelling sessions that foster a love of nature and reading.

Why Attend?
Children’s books are invaluable in helping young minds explore their surroundings and learn about various habitats and seasons. During this special event, attendees will journey through captivating stories, learning alongside furry, feathered, and scaly friends.

What’s Included?
The First Sunday Story Time is free, as is admission to the Nature Center. After the storytelling, families are encouraged to explore the indoor Nature Play Area, observe live animals, and discover educational exhibits.

Reservations Recommended
Due to limited space, participation is capped at 15 children. Reservations are encouraged by October 5. Interested families can call the Nature Center at (716) 569-2345 or visit AudubonCNC.org to secure their spot. Walk-ins are welcome if space allows.

Located just east of Route 62, the Audubon Community Nature Center spans nearly 600 acres of scenic beauty. Visitors can check out live birds of prey, stroll through the native tree arboretum, or hike over five miles of trails, all accessible from dawn until dusk at no cost.









The three-story Nature Center building features interactive displays and a variety of live animals, including the fascinating Hellbender exhibit. Open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4:30 p.m., the center welcomes everyone—offering free building admission to Nature Center members and SNAP/EBT cardholders.
