(WNY News Now) – Congressman Nick Langworthy will engage with local business owners and announce significant federal funding for critical water infrastructure improvements during his tour in Chautauqua County tomorrow.

Tomorrow, October 2, Congressman Nick Langworthy will visit Dunkirk, Olean, and Friendship, New York, for a series of events highlighting key priorities for the district. He will begin the day meeting with local business owners at the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Lunch to discuss economic development and federal support for small businesses.

In Olean, the Congressman will announce a $1 million federal investment for the city’s Water Filtration Plant and tour Olean General Hospital to highlight healthcare needs in the region. He will conclude his day in Friendship, where he will discuss $2 million in federal funding to update the town’s aging water infrastructure.

12:00 PM – Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Lunch

Shorewood Country Club, 4958 W. Lake Rd, Dunkirk, NY 14048 

will meet with local business owners and community leaders who are part of the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce to discuss federal support for small businesses, ongoing legislative initiatives, and priorities for the 23rd Congressional district.









3:00 PM – Press Conference on Federal Funding for Olean Water Filtration Plant

1332 River St, Olean, NY 14760 

Congressman Langworthy will announce $1 million for the City of Olean’s Water Filtration Plant Exterior Wall Reconstruction, which is part of the FY25 Energy and Water Appropriations Act introduced in the House. The current exterior wall is damaged and faces imminent failure if it is not repaired — the successful operation of this water filtration plant is critical for clean drinking water and fire suppression. The Congressman will be joined by local officials at the press conference.

3:30 PM – Tour of Olean General Hospital

Congressman Langworthy will meet with Olean General Hospital Foundation President Steve Jackson and tour the facility.

5:00 PM – Press Conference on Federal Funding for the Town of Friendship Drinking Water Infrastructure

Congressman Langworthy will announce $2 million in federal funding to update the Town of Friendship’s aging drinking water infrastructure. Congressman Langworthy secured this funding as part of the Fiscal Year 2024 Appropriations process, and it was signed into law in March. The Congressman will be joined by local officials at the press conference.
