(WNY News Now) – A man was hospitalized following a stabbing on Butternut Street Friday night, prompting an ongoing investigation by Syracuse police.

Syracuse, N.Y. – On Friday, October 4th, at approximately 9:05 p.m., Syracuse Police Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 800 block of Butternut Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a 42-year-old man suffering from stab wounds to his back and a laceration to his neck. Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to Upstate University Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are not life-threatening.

The Syracuse Police Department has launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. As they work to gather information, authorities encourage anyone with knowledge related to the stabbing to come forward.
