(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man faces criminal charges after allegedly choking a victim during a domestic dispute on the city’s south side.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On October 10, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Jamestown Police officers responded to a residence on the south side of Jamestown following reports of a physical domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers from the 2nd Platoon initiated an investigation, which revealed that Tarice Echevarria, a 25-year-old resident of Jamestown, allegedly choked a victim during the altercation.

Echevarria fled the scene but was located a short distance away by police. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment. Echevarria faces a charge of Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, a serious offense under New York State law.

The case is set to proceed in Jamestown City Court, where Echevarria will face arraignment and further legal proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
