(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown turned into a drug bust as officers uncovered crack cocaine and fentanyl, resulting in felony charges.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On October 18, 2024, at approximately 5:34 p.m., Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd Platoon officers conducted a traffic stop near Clinton Street and West 6th Street for observed traffic violations. During the stop, officers noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view, prompting a search of the vehicle. Inside, officers discovered plastic bag corners containing a white powdered substance.

Further investigation revealed that Jonah K. Warner, a 32-year-old male, was in possession of a quantity of crack cocaine and fentanyl. Warner was arrested without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th and 7th degrees. Warner remains in custody pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
