(WNY News Now) – The Buffalo Police Department has apprehended a man accused of posting terroristic threats online, marking his second arrest for similar offenses this month.

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Buffalo police arrested Mark Ferraro, 57, following a series of terroristic threats posted on Facebook. Ferraro’s posts included multiple threats targeting specific individuals, along with Buffalo and Cheektowaga police officers. The posts quickly caught the attention of the Buffalo Police Department’s Threat Management Unit, which immediately launched an investigation to identify the individual responsible.

Working swiftly, detectives pinpointed Ferraro as the suspect, leading to his arrest on the first block of Best Street by officers from the B District. He now faces charges of Making a Terroristic Threat, a class D felony under New York State Penal Law 490.20-1, and Making a Threat of Mass Harm, a class B misdemeanor under Penal Law 240.78.

Ferraro’s arrest follows an earlier incident on October 2, when he allegedly made similar threats to bomb a Buffalo Police building and a private business on Scott Street. After that incident, he was charged with the same offenses.
