(WNY News Now) – 29-Year-Old Accused of Fatally Shooting Man Near Wade Avenue.
Buffalo, N.Y. – Latrice T. Purdie, 29, of Buffalo, has been arraigned on a second-degree murder charge following a fatal shooting in the city’s Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood. Acting Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced the arraignment, which took place Tuesday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Peter J. Savage, III.

Authorities allege that on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Purdie intentionally shot a 39-year-old man near Wade Avenue and Holden Street, resulting in his death. Buffalo Police officers responded to the scene, where the victim was pronounced dead.
Purdie, held without bail, is scheduled for a felony hearing on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
Acting DA Keane acknowledged the investigative efforts of Buffalo Police Detectives Thomas Nunan and Rita Ruffin. Assistant District Attorney Christopher S. Safulko of the Homicide Bureau is prosecuting the case.
As with all criminal cases, Purdie is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
