(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man is in custody after officers identified him with a stolen electric bicycle during a routine patrol.

JAMESTOWN, NY – On Friday, November 22, 2024, at approximately 9:08 AM, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon arrested 49-year-old Scott E. Moore for criminal possession of stolen property.

While patrolling near Barrett Avenue and McKinley Avenue, officers noticed a man pushing an electric bicycle that matched the description of one reported stolen two days earlier from Jamestown’s south side. The bike was confirmed stolen upon investigation.

Moore, a Jamestown resident, was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a felony. He is currently held at the Jamestown City Jail, awaiting arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

Authorities returned the electric bicycle to its rightful owner.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
