(WNY News Now) – The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Travel Advisory for all of Cattaraugus County effective immediately. Intense lake-effect snow coupled with strong winds has significantly impaired travel conditions, prompting officials to caution motorists against unnecessary trips.

Although the advisory does not equate to a full road closure, residents are encouraged to postpone non-essential travel until the advisory is lifted and weather conditions improve. Those who must travel are advised to exercise extreme caution, allocate additional travel time, and stay prepared for sudden weather changes.

Motorists are also urged to remain vigilant for first responders, snowplows, and other road crews working to ensure safety on roadways.
