(WNY News Now) – A Winter Weather Advisory warns of significant snowfall and hazardous travel conditions, prompting caution for commuters.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo, NY, has issued a Winter Weather Advisory effective until 10:00 AM EST Saturday, December 7. Wyoming and Southern Erie Counties are bracing for snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches, with higher totals likely in far southern Erie County, including Springville and Gowanda, and southwestern Wyoming County near Arcade.

Hazardous travel conditions are anticipated, particularly during Friday evening’s commute. Snow-covered roads and reduced visibility will make driving treacherous. Commuters are urged to slow down, increase following distances, and exercise caution while on the road.

Lighter snow amounts are expected in northern areas of the affected counties, though all regions should prepare for adverse weather impacts.

Residents are encouraged to submit snow accumulation reports through the NWS website or on social media platforms to aid in real-time weather tracking.

Stay informed and prioritize safety during this winter weather event.
