(WNY News Now) – A domestic incident at Fairmount Plaza in the Town of Ellicott has led to stalking charges against a Panama man.

On December 4, 2024, the Town of Ellicott Police Department arrested Derek A. Eggleston, 48, of Panama, NY, following a reported domestic incident at Fairmount Plaza. Authorities allege that Eggleston followed and approached the victim, causing her to fear both physical and emotional harm.

Eggleston has been charged with stalking in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor offense under New York law. He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
