(WNY News Now) – A coordinated drug task force operation in Jamestown uncovered stolen firearms, high-capacity magazines, and methamphetamine, resulting in the arrest of two local residents.

JAMESTOWN, NY — On December 16, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a search warrant executed at 216 Forest Avenue, Apartment 1, by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force led to significant arrests and the seizure of stolen weapons and drugs.

The Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team secured the residence, where Tyler T. Dalton, 25, and Damion E. Dalton, 20, were apprehended. Detectives discovered a defaced AR-15 rifle, a stolen and disassembled carbine rifle with high-capacity magazines, and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Damion Dalton, who also had a warrant for criminal mischief, faces multiple charges, including:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (assault weapon, high-capacity magazines, defaced firearms)
  • Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree
  • Pending charges in Pennsylvania for burglary and weapon theft.

Tyler Dalton, a convicted felon, was charged with:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (assault weapon, high-capacity magazines, defaced firearms)
  • Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree for methamphetamine possession.

Both suspects were taken to the Jamestown City Jail and are being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

The operation was supported by multiple agencies, including the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Dunkirk Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Chautauqua County Tac Meds, and the Jamestown Fire Department.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
