(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A routine police response to an unwanted person complaint on the west side of the city led to the arrest of a 25-year-old Jamestown man on multiple felony charges.

Shortly before midnight on December 19, 2024, Jamestown Police officers were dispatched to a residence following reports of an unwanted individual. Upon arrival, officers encountered David G. Santiago Jr., who was found to have an active warrant issued by the department.

Following his arrest, a search revealed a loaded handgun, a quantity of fentanyl, and suboxone strips in Santiago’s possession. Santiago was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he now faces the following charges:

  • Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree
  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree

Santiago is currently held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
