(WNY News Now) – A routine vehicle tracking led Rochester Police to uncover four stolen cars abandoned in the city, sparking an investigation into the thefts.
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police Department officers discovered four stolen vehicles abandoned on Thomas Street Thursday morning, following a vehicle tracking operation.
The investigation began when officers traced a vehicle reported stolen from Gates to the 100 block of Thomas Street. Upon arrival, they identified three additional vehicles at the scene, all confirmed to be stolen.
Police reports indicate the other vehicles were taken from Irondequoit, Brighton, and Rochester. No suspects have been apprehended, and the circumstances surrounding the thefts remain under investigation.
Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the stolen vehicles or those responsible for their theft to contact the Rochester Police Department.
