(WNY News Now) – A welfare check on Route 242 in Mansfield led to the arrest of a Jamestown resident for driving while intoxicated, according to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.

MANSFIELD, NY – Early Saturday morning, December 28, 2024, Cattaraugus County deputies conducted a welfare check on a vehicle along Route 242 in Mansfield. The stop, initiated around 2:52 a.m., resulted in the arrest of 34-year-old Serina L. Penhollow of Jamestown, NY, for suspected impaired driving.

Following field sobriety tests and further investigation, Penhollow was taken into custody and transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. There, she underwent a Datamaster chemical test, which confirmed the suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Penhollow was processed and issued an appearance ticket along with multiple uniform traffic tickets, including charges under New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law sections 1192-3, 1192-2, 509-1, and 1163-e. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Mansfield Court on a later date to address the charges.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
