(WNY News Now) – A Falconer man faces criminal contempt charges after allegedly violating a court-ordered stay-away order on January 2nd.

On January 2nd, Michael R. Howard, 45, of Falconer, was arrested by the Town of Ellicott Police for criminal contempt in the second degree following an alleged violation of an order of protection. Officers responded to a call reporting that Howard had been at the victim’s residence, despite a court-issued directive to stay away.

Howard was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for a centralized arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to address the charge.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
