(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop on Jamestown’s north side turned into a brief vehicle pursuit, leading to the arrest of a local man on multiple charges, including possession of cocaine.
Jamestown, N.Y. – In the early hours of January 4, 2025, Jamestown police officers on the 3rd platoon conducted a traffic stop on the city’s north side. During the stop, officers identified the driver as 35-year-old Mario Adams, who had an active warrant issued by the Jamestown Police Department.
When officers instructed Adams to exit the vehicle, he fled the scene, initiating a vehicle pursuit through Jamestown. The chase concluded on the city’s east side, where officers successfully stopped Adams’ vehicle and took him into custody without further incident.
During a search following the arrest, police discovered Adams was in possession of a quantity of cocaine. As a result, he now faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Resisting Arrest, and several traffic violations.
Adams was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
