(WNY News Now) – A routine unwanted person complaint in Great Valley led to the apprehension of a woman with multiple active warrants spanning two police departments.
Great Valley, NY – On January 4, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m., deputies from the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call reporting an unwanted individual at a residence on Halsaver Road. Upon arrival, authorities identified the individual as Bethany A. Phinney, 34, of Cattaraugus, NY.
Subsequent investigation revealed that Phinney was the subject of three active warrants—two issued by the Cheektowaga Police Department and one by the Town of Hamburg Police Department. The nature of the warrants was not disclosed.
After being taken into custody without incident, Phinney was transported to the Country Fair in Springville, where she was handed over to the Cheektowaga Police Department.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
