(WNY News Now) – Pomfret, NY — Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a local man following an altercation involving theft and violation of a court order.

On January 18, 2025, at approximately 8:25 PM, deputies responded to a report of an incident at a residence in the Town of Pomfret. After investigating, authorities determined that Alexander B. Reilly, 41, had stolen property from another individual. The theft also constituted a violation of an active order of protection against him.

Reilly was arrested at the scene and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for arraignment. He is charged with petit larceny and criminal contempt in the second degree. Reilly is scheduled to appear in Pomfret Town Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
