(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A routine traffic stop conducted by Jamestown Police on the evening of January 22, 2025, resulted in the arrest of three individuals and the discovery of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and evidence of distribution activities.

Officers observed a moving violation near Allen and Maple Streets at approximately 9:04 PM and stopped the vehicle. During the investigation, police discovered equipment commonly used for weighing, mixing, and packaging narcotics. A small quantity of cocaine and methamphetamine was also recovered.

The vehicle’s occupants—Jamal M. Jackson (32), Dazjah S. Coleman (27), and Terry J. Amerson (31)—were taken into custody without incident.

Further Developments
While being transported to the Jamestown City Jail, Jackson attempted to destroy a concealed quantity of methamphetamine. Officers managed to recover over half an ounce of the drug before further destruction occurred.

Charges and Court Status

  • Jamal M. Jackson, a Jamestown resident, faces multiple charges, including:
    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, 4th, and 7th Degrees
    • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree (two counts)
    • Tampering with Physical Evidence

Jackson was held pending arraignment and later committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.

  • Dazjah S. Coleman and Terry J. Amerson were both charged with:
    • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree (two counts)
    • Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree (two counts)

Coleman and Amerson were booked and released with appearance tickets, as well as traffic tickets related to the stop.



The suspects are scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
