(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A routine street check led to the arrest of a fugitive from justice in Jamestown on Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 3:50 p.m. on January 30, 2025, officers from the second platoon conducted a street check at a residence on the north side of the city, located at 868 Prendergast Avenue. During the check, officers identified the individual as Edgar Melendez Roario and confirmed that he was wanted in the state of Pennsylvania.

Roario was taken into custody without incident and transported to Jamestown City Jail. He is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court on a charge of Fugitive from Justice.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
