(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A local man was taken into custody early Friday morning for violating a court-issued stay-away order.
Around 1:20 a.m. on January 31, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon observed a man and woman walking on the city’s Northside. Upon identifying the male as 36-year-old Bruce J. Miles, officers recognized him from prior encounters and were aware he had an active stay-away order of protection against the female he was with.
Miles was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. He has been charged with Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
