(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Northern Erie, and Genesee counties. The advisory remains in effect until 6:00 AM EST on Monday, February 3.

Freezing Drizzle and Light Snow Expected

The weather system is expected to bring freezing drizzle mixed with light snow, leading to hazardous travel conditions. Additional snowfall accumulation is expected to be an inch or less, with a light glaze of ice forming on roadways and windshields.

Impact on Travel

Drivers should anticipate slippery roads, sidewalks, and parking lots due to the wintry mix. The freezing drizzle may make driving difficult at times, particularly in the early morning hours. Authorities advise motorists to reduce speed and use caution while traveling.
