(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Dunkirk man was taken into custody early Saturday after allegedly breaking a hospital window and threatening staff with a knife at UPMC Chautauqua.
According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon responded to a report of a disorderly male with a knife at the hospital at approximately 1:02 a.m. Upon arrival, they were informed that 33-year-old Nathaniel D. Hollins Jr. had broken a hospital room window and was making threats with a weapon.
Officers made contact with Hollins and were able to safely disarm him before taking him into custody without further incident. He was transported to the city jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
Hollins faces multiple charges, including Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and Menacing in the Second Degree.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
