(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A routine warrant check led to the arrest of a Jamestown woman on Sunday night after she allegedly resisted officers during the encounter.

According to police, officers from the Second Platoon were patrolling E. 2nd St. at approximately 9:45 p.m. on February 17 when they spotted 23-year-old Hayden E. Guichard, who was known to have active bench warrants issued by Jamestown City Court.

When officers attempted to take Guichard into custody, she reportedly clung to an individual she was walking with and resisted arrest. After a brief struggle, officers were able to detain her.

Guichard was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where she was held pending arraignment on charges of resisting arrest in addition to her outstanding bench warrants.

She is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court for further proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
