(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – Two Jamestown residents were charged with drug possession following a traffic stop on Foote Avenue near Prather Avenue on the evening of February 25.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the 2nd Platoon observed a vehicle committing multiple traffic infractions at approximately 8:03 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted, and the occupants were identified as Christopher J. Light and Aimee L. Hogg.

During the stop, officers noticed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the vehicle. A subsequent search led to the discovery of fentanyl. Light was found to have additional quantities of fentanyl and cocaine on his person.

Both individuals were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Light was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, while Hogg was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.

Both were released with appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
