(WNY News Now) – ELLERY, N.Y. – A 46-year-old Allegany man is facing multiple charges following a single-vehicle crash on Route 430 early Saturday morning.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway at approximately 4:54 a.m. on March 1, 2025. Upon arrival, authorities identified the driver as Salvador Casares. An investigation determined that Casares was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

Casares was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and was later released with tickets. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellery Court on charges of moving from lane unsafely, operating without a valid license, driving while intoxicated (DWI), and DWI Per Se.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
