(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A Jamestown man was taken into custody on Saturday afternoon for allegedly violating a court-issued order of protection during a domestic incident on the city’s south side.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Second Platoon responded to a residence at approximately 3:47 p.m. on March 2 following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers found 31-year-old Robert M. Bloom standing outside the victim’s home.

Authorities determined that Bloom had an active full stay-away order of protection against him, with the victim listed as the protected party. He was arrested at the scene without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.

Bloom has been charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony offense. He is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
