(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A routine traffic stop in the early hours of Saturday led to the arrest of a Jamestown man on multiple charges, including driving while intoxicated.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 3:44 a.m. on March 1, 2025, at the intersection of N Main Street and W 1st Street. The driver, identified as 48-year-old Frankie Colon-Velazquez, displayed signs of alcohol impairment.

After failing standard field sobriety tests, Colon-Velazquez was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. A breathalyzer test later confirmed his blood alcohol content (BAC) exceeded the legal limit of 0.08%.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), aggravated DWI per se (BAC over 0.08%), aggravated unlicensed operation (AUO) in the third degree, and multiple traffic violations.

Colon-Velazquez was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court before being released. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
