(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A routine traffic stop resulted in the arrest of two individuals on drug possession charges Saturday night, according to the Jamestown Police Department.

On March 1, 2025, at approximately 8:58 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle near Barrett Avenue and Cowden Place for a moving violation. During the investigation, police determined that the occupants, Jarried M. Dean, 32, and Krystal S. Hintz, 41, both of Jamestown, were in possession of methamphetamine.

Further search revealed that Dean had an additional 4.0 grams of methamphetamine and 4.9 grams of fentanyl concealed on his person. Both individuals were transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

Hintz was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and issued multiple traffic tickets. She was booked and released on an appearance ticket.

Dean faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th and 7th Degree. He remains in custody pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
