(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A Jamestown man was arrested early Monday morning for violating court-issued orders of protection during a domestic dispute.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the third platoon responded to a residence on the city’s south side at approximately 12:55 a.m. on March 10 for a reported domestic incident. Upon investigation, police determined that Michael R. Shafer, 22, had active orders of protection requiring him to stay away from two individuals inside the home.

Shafer was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Due to his prior criminal history, he has been charged with two counts of aggravated criminal contempt and is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
