(WNY News Now) – CATTARAUGUS COUNTY, N.Y. – A Wellsville woman was released from custody after being turned over to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office on a felony bench warrant.

On March 10, 2025, Nikki D. Hunt, 39, was transferred from the McKean County Jail in Pennsylvania to the custody of the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office. The transfer was executed due to a felony bench warrant issued by Cattaraugus County Court.

After processing at the sheriff’s office, Hunt was taken to county court for arraignment. Following the court proceedings, she was released from custody. However, authorities immediately transferred Hunt to the New York State Police in Olean, where she faced an additional active warrant.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
