(WNY News Now) – COLDSPRING, N.Y. – A Cattaraugus County man was arrested Tuesday evening after deputies discovered he had an active bench warrant during an unrelated incident.

According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Brett M. Williams, 28, was taken into custody around 7:15 p.m. on March 11 after deputies encountered him in the Town of Coldspring. Upon investigation, authorities determined that Williams had an outstanding bench warrant issued by the City of Salamanca Court.

Williams was transported to the City of Salamanca Police Department, where he was turned over to local authorities for further court proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
