(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, NY – A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of two Jamestown residents for drug possession on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 7:50 p.m. on March 12, 2025, Jamestown Police officers conducted a vehicle stop near West 3rd Street and Cherry Street after observing multiple traffic violations. During the investigation, officers discovered that Gerald Samuels Jr., 19, was in possession of methamphetamine, while Jacquelyn Hayes, 33, was found with fentanyl.

Both individuals were taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, a misdemeanor. They were transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

Samuels and Hayes were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
