(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A Jamestown resident was arrested Tuesday night following a domestic incident on the city’s north side, resulting in multiple charges.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, officers from the Second Platoon responded to a domestic disturbance at approximately 9:48 p.m. on March 17. During their investigation, officers determined that Robert E. Ormsby, 50, had allegedly become disorderly and took away the victim’s phone while they attempted to call 911. Authorities also reported that Ormsby made multiple alarming comments in the presence of four children.

Ormsby was taken into custody and charged with four counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and fourth-degree Criminal Mischief. He was transported to the city jail, where he remains held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
