(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. – A federal grand jury has indicted Latika Saintkitts, 34, of Jamestown, NY, on charges of narcotics conspiracy, U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced. If convicted, she faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, with a potential maximum of life.
According to the indictment, between 2018 and May 26, 2022, Saintkitts conspired with Joseph S. Zaso and others to distribute heroin and fentanyl in the Jamestown area. Co-defendants in the case include Andres Pizzaro Campos, Max Pizzaro Campos, Cindy Frank, Edward Leeper, and Jaquez L. Thomas. Zaso has already been convicted and is awaiting sentencing.
Saintkitts was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and was released pending further proceedings.
The indictment stems from an investigation involving the Jamestown Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities say the case is part of Operation Take Back America, a federal initiative aimed at disrupting drug trafficking and transnational criminal organizations.
Officials emphasize that an indictment is an accusation, and Saintkitts is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
