(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — A 35-year-old man has been indicted for multiple burglaries across Buffalo’s Elmwood Village and West Side neighborhoods, Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane announced.

Ryan C. Klatt, who has no permanent address, was arraigned Wednesday morning before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on an indictment charging him with seven counts of Burglary in the Third Degree (Class D felonies).
Prosecutors allege Klatt committed a string of break-ins between November 2024 and January 2025, targeting multiple businesses. In several incidents, he is accused of forcibly entering through rear doors and using tools to pry open cash registers.
Authorities say he was initially arrested on November 7, 2024, after being caught inside a Niagara Street business. However, he was released on his own recognizance, as the charges did not qualify for bail. A bench warrant was later issued when he failed to appear in court on November 19, 2024.
Klatt was arrested again on January 24, 2025, and linked to additional burglaries. He has remained in custody since January 25.
If convicted of the top charge, Klatt faces up to seven years in prison. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 14, 2025.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Daniel N. Celani of the Felony Trials Bureau. Law enforcement officials from the Buffalo Police Department and NFTA Police contributed to the investigation.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
