(WNY News Now) – CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. – A Cheektowaga man has been arraigned on multiple felony charges for allegedly firing an illegal firearm at victims while violating a court-issued order of protection.

Shayne S. Ganoe, 33, was arraigned Wednesday morning in Amherst Town Court before Justice Ann Nichols on charges including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, and multiple counts of Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Mischief, and Criminal Contempt.
According to Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane, the incident occurred on March 25, 2025, around 12:30 p.m. Amherst Police responded to reports of gunfire near Hopkins Road and Randwood Drive. Ganoe is accused of firing multiple rounds into an occupied vehicle while in violation of an order of protection issued by West Seneca Town Court. The occupants were not injured, but their vehicle sustained damage from the gunfire.
Ganoe is being held without bail and is scheduled to appear for a felony hearing on March 31, 2025, before Justice Jeffrey E. Marion in Amherst Town Court. If convicted of the highest charge, he faces up to 25 years in prison.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Kurt C. Snuszka of the Justice Courts Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Rachel M. Vicario of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
