(WNY News Now) – The Jamestown Fire Department responded to a residential fire that broke out at a condemned property on Forest Ave. in Jamestown on April 1, 2025.

Jamestown, N.Y. – Shortly before 7 p.m. on April 1, 2025, the Jamestown Fire Department responded to reports of a residential fire that broke out at 216 Forest Ave. Within about 45 minutes of their initial response, the fire department had contained the majority of the blaze.

According to Jamestown Fire Department Chief Ryan Roush, there was heavy fire on the rear of the building when the department made it to the scene. They fought to make entry through the side of the building, at which point they worked their way upwards through the roofline in order to extinguish the flames. Chief Roush commended the efforts of the department, as they managed to contain the blaze without any injuries being reported.

Fire investigators and JPD detectives are currently on the scene to determine the cause of the fire. The building was confirmed by bystanders to have been condemned prior to the incident.
